Chef Kathy Fang hires a new chef at her restaurant so she can focus on her expansion efforts, which include an elite private event hosted by Kristi Yamaguchi at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. Kathy is pushed outside of her comfort zone working in a kitchen that does not meet her culinary standards while also having to trust the new chef to operate at Fang without her. Any slight misstep is an opportunity for Peter to nix her expansion plans.

Chef Kathy Fang is taking her San Francisco-based restaurant, Fang, to new heights in Chinese cuisine. Kathy's father and business partner is Peter Fang, one of the city's most-elite chefs and owner of the famous House of Nanking. She must convince him that a modernized menu will help her expand and achieve what she coins as, "Chinese cuisine world domination." A private dinner for social influencers puts Kathy's new ideas to the test, but only if her guests, including Peter, approve of her changes.

As Kathy sees her dreams coming to fruition, she is at a major crossroads with her father. To show her appreciation and respect for the legacy he has created, Kathy plans a surprise block party for her father's restaurant, House of Nanking, which has been named a landmark restaurant. Kathy hopes that this gesture will reaffirm her father's faith in her while also getting his blessing to continue the expansion. Meanwhile, tensions between Long and Lillian implode and force Kathy to make a major decision.

At one of the biggest events of her career, Kathy Fang and her team work a multi-day San Francisco tech convention that brings thousands of professionals into Fang. Adding extra pressure is a 500-person party with her husband, Caleb, headlining. For the first time ever, Kathy opens all three floors of the restaurant, putting her expansion plans to the ultimate test. Kathy needs her staff to work double shifts and must even hire an additional serving team to pull off this enormous culinary endeavor.
